About Marialex

Marialex believes there is always more to someone than what we see at first.

She is naturally curious about people and the different lives, experiences, and perspectives they carry. She listens. She remembers. She takes the time to learn people and notice the things that matter to them. For Marialex, attentiveness isn't about getting everything exactly right. It's about caring enough to know someone a little better than you did before.

That curiosity is part of what drew Marialex toward a future in healthcare. An aspiring physician assistant, she became interested in the larger healthcare system while studying healthcare administration and quickly recognized how difficult that system can be to understand and navigate. She knew she wanted to become someone who could make the path a little clearer for the people moving through it.

Today, as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Marialex is often one of the first people patients spend time with before an appointment. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she loves those moments of connection, whether someone arrives ready to talk or would rather simply have someone quietly present. She wants people to feel comfortable and safe without having to explain everything they may be carrying before they are met with kindness.

Marialex also genuinely loves to learn. One of her favorite things about healthcare is knowing that every day can teach her something new. She loves sharing an unexpected fun fact or offering a different perspective, and she values being part of a team where people learn from one another, laugh together, and lift each other up when the days are difficult.

Outside of work, Marialex is happiest spending time with the people she loves. Her family is important to her, as is Clementine, her one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, who has brought plenty of energy and personality into her life. Marialex is also currently learning to cook. It may not be something she loves just yet, but she believes there is value in learning something new, and giving herself the time to get better at it.

For Marialex, hope and healing mean a new beginning, the possibility of turning the page and beginning another chapter. She hopes to leave people with understanding and compassion, remembering that we all come from different walks of life and may never fully know what someone else is carrying. Sometimes, simply taking the time to understand can be a way of helping someone feel a little less alone in it.
