The person behind the care

About Alison

Alison Manos believes that who we are can never be reduced to the hardest thing we have faced.

She understands that some of life's hardest moments can leave people feeling alone, uncertain, or disconnected from the person they know themselves to be. Alison meets them where they are with empathy, patience, and a calm, nonjudgmental presence, listening closely, even for what may be difficult to say. She wants people to know that what they are going through matters, but it does not have to define everything that comes next.

Her Approach

Helping you reclaim hope

Alison's path into psychiatric care began through her work in substance use treatment. Walking alongside people through addiction and recovery showed her how much it matters to have someone who will listen without judgment and continue to see the person beneath what they are facing. It ultimately inspired her to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner and shaped something she still carries with her today: people are always more than the hardest thing they have been through.

Alison brings that belief into every relationship she builds. She cares about what matters to the person in front of her, their experiences, values, hopes, and the life they want for themselves. She is especially passionate about helping people affected by addiction reclaim hope, stability, and purpose, while creating a space where reaching for help is met with dignity rather than shame. For Alison, being trusted with someone's story is something she never takes for granted.

Outside of the clinic, Alison's greatest source of strength and joy is her family, especially her two sons. She is also a devoted Baltimore Orioles fan, owns seven Gunnar Henderson jerseys, and spends as much time at the ballpark as she can. When baseball season ends, you'll likely find her crocheting or simply enjoying time with the people she loves.

For Alison, hope is believing that change is possible, even when the path ahead feels difficult or uncertain. Healing is finding stability, strength, meaning, and connection as you move through it. And sometimes, the first sign of that hope is simply being willing to believe that your story can still become something more.
