The person behind the care
About Christie
For Christie Leone, caring for people has always been about more than what we do. It's about the spaces we create for them.
She believes there is something extraordinary about creating a place where people can simply be. Where they don't have to prove their worth, hide their struggles, or become someone else to belong. Christie has always been drawn to the stories people carry and the quiet moments when someone feels safe enough to share a little more of themselves. Those moments sparked a curiosity that would eventually shape her calling and the way she cares for others.
That curiosity began taking shape during Christie's early years working in hospital care, where she often found herself connecting with people during their most vulnerable moments. Patients who had struggled to open up to others would share their stories with her, deepening her fascination with the human experience. Her first psychology course only added to that sense of wonder, leading her to pursue her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland University College, where she graduated summa cum laude. Through some of life's most difficult seasons, her education became a source of hope and purpose. What began as a desire to understand people grew into a lifelong commitment to helping them.
Over more than twenty years in healthcare, Christie's journey has taken her from hospital care and addictions counseling to behavioral health leadership, quality, compliance, and innovation. Along the way, she began to recognize that the systems surrounding people could shape their experiences just as deeply as the care they received. She became passionate about building something better. Environments where people feel valued, integrity comes first, and doing the right thing matters, even when no one is watching.

More About Christie
Leading with love
Today, Christie serves as ITC's Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance and Director of Strategic Innovation. She brings together heart-centered care, human-centered leadership, and thoughtful design to build ecosystems where people matter. Whether supporting her team, strengthening patient experiences, or creating new pathways for care, her purpose remains the same: to build with integrity, lead with love, and leave people and places a little better than she found them. Her contributions also include creating The Anchor Model, a proprietary framework for building more connected, human-centered behavioral healthcare systems; serving as a CARF Behavioral Health Surveyor and Mentor to Surveyor Interns; and serving as a Pain Reprocessing Therapy Coach and Facilitator. Christie is also a published author, with a continuing passion for understanding people and finding more intentional ways to care for them.
Away from work, Christie's world comes home to the people she loves. Her husband is her best friend and favorite person to do life beside, and together they share a blended family of six children. She loves books that make her think and grow, favorite '90s movies, music turned up loudly enough to sing along, and the simple moments that make life beautiful.
For Christie, hope is believing that even in life's most difficult moments, something beautiful is still possible. Healing is the journey of learning, growing, and finding our way back to ourselves, sometimes in ways we never imagined. She considers it an honor to create spaces and experiences where patients and fellow Lightkeepers feel safe enough to explore, discover, and simply be, trusting that each person carries within them more than they may yet realize.
