The person behind the care
About Jose
Jose Revollo believes that even after life has taken something from us, there is still something deeply powerful left within our reach: the ability to choose what comes next.
For Jose, mental health care is about helping people reconnect with that possibility. He understands that asking for help requires vulnerability, and he wants every person who sits across from him to know that their struggles, emotions, and experiences are real and significant. His role is not simply to provide treatment, but to create enough safety, understanding, and support for someone to begin imagining and building a life that feels like their own again.

His Approach
Collaborative, educational, whole-person care
Jose's path into mental health care grew from his work with children and young adults. He saw the difference education and guidance could make when people were trying to understand their diagnoses and needs, eventually leading him into community and school nursing. That experience helped shape something he still carries into his work today: care works best when it is built with someone, not simply handed to them.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Jose brings that same spirit of partnership to psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapy. He takes a whole-person approach, considering physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being rather than reducing someone to a diagnosis. He wants people to understand their care, have a voice in it, and gain the knowledge and tools they need to move forward. His own approach can be summed up in three simple words: learn, teach, and help.
What keeps Jose connected to this work are the changes that happen over time. Healthcare professionals often meet people during some of the lowest moments of their lives, and Jose finds meaning in watching someone slowly regain control of the things that matter to them, their life, relationships, career, and future. There is something powerful in witnessing a person begin to recognize that what they have been through does not have to decide where they go from here.
Outside of the clinic, Jose enjoys working with his hands and spending time on the things that keep him grounded. He gardens and takes on projects around the house, from painting and electrical work to woodworking. He also values genuine connection and the small gestures that can sometimes say more than words, a smile, a firm handshake, and the simple feeling of being acknowledged by another person.
For Jose, hope means believing in a better future while still doing the work of healing from the pain and loss of the past. It is finding the courage to choose again, to take the next step, and to begin building something new, while remembering that none of us has to find our way forward alone.
